An article that forges some interesting links between France, Haiti and the birth of the United States. It doesn't give much space to the slave narratives - the role enforced human labour played in the establishment of the 'American experiment' - but there's information about Toussaint Louverture, the (Haitian) Revolution of 1791 and the history of what was once Saint Domingue.
